ARCHILAND CO-ORGANISED A SEMINAR ON INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT MODELS AND PLANNING PARADIGMS FOR GREEN ECOLOGICAL SPACES AT THE URBAN FRINGE
Recently, the Seminar on Innovative Development Modes and Planning Paradigms for Green Eco-Space at the Urban Fringe, jointly organized by Tianjin Urban Planning Society and Tianjin Planning and Natural Resources Reading and Writing Group, was successfully held in FUN.FARM.FAM Ecological Farm in Shunyi District, Beijing. More than 50 experts, scholars, managers and technicians from relevant departments of Tianjin Planning and Natural Resources, unit members of the Planning Society, planning and urban design related units and institutions participated in this event. ARCHILAND as a co-organizer organized and participated in this seminar, and shared innovative practice in ecological space planning at the edge of the city.
This academic event was hosted by Wang Xuebin, Secretary General of Tianjin Urban Planning Society, with an opening speech by Huang Jingtao, Director of Tianjin Urban Planning Society. The first part of the programme consisted of three keynote speeches, starting with a keynote speech by Councillor Huo Bing of Tianjin Municipal Government: "The Revolution of the Green Ring Circle". Afterwards, Mr. Morten Holm, CO-CEO of FUN.FARM.FAM Ecological Farm and Chief Architect of ARCHILAND, gave a speech on "Eco-farm Construction and Operation". After that, Ms. Tian Kun, Planning Director of ARCHILAND, shared "Green Eco-Space Development Strategies for Urban Fringe in Copenhagen and Singapore".
The second part of the event was a book discussion session, hosted by Mr. Sun Zheng, Ecological Director of ARCHILAND. Representatives of the authors of the books, Mr. Wu Haotian, Deputy Chief Planner of Institute of Territorial Spatial Planning, Peking University, and Mr. Su Yi, Director of Resilience and Wisdom Laboratory of the Big Data Centre of Beijing Architecture University, exchanged their respective selections of the books in the book discussion.
At the end of the event was a salon session, in which Professor Zeng Jian, Professor Chen Tian, Professor Zhu Ling of Tianjin University, Deputy Director Zhang Jincheng of Historical and Cultural City Design Department, Tianjin Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, President Xie Shuimu of the 7th Academy of Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Research Institute, and Deputy Chief Planner Wu Haotian of Institute of Territorial Spatial Planning, Peking University, discussed about the innovative development mode of green ecological space on the edge of the city and planning paradigm in a salon session. Finally, Huang Jingtao, director of Tianjin Urban Planning Society, concluded his speech by saying that this academic exchange focuses on "One Ring and Eleven Gardens", discussing Tianjin's urban structure, trends of the times, construction of theoretical models and policy guidance, aiming to promote the practical examples of the city's retrogression and metamorphosis. The "One Ring and Eleven Gardens" is not only to reshape the relationship between human beings and nature, interpersonal and self-relationships, but also to build a new urban values, and realize the sublimation from the beauty of products to the beauty of life and even the beauty of life.
