ARCHILAND INVITED TO BE INTERVIEWED BY CHINA INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION PROGRAM

Recently, China International Television (CGTN)'s Lucia Craft program ‘A path to sustainable living: Sino-Danish cooperation on green buildings’ was recorded and broadcasted at FunFarmFam Eco-Farm in Beijing, where Mr. Morten Holm, Design Director of ARCHILAND, was interviewed and shared the experiences and achievements of the cooperation between China and Denmark in the field of green building in the practice of ARCHILAND projects.

The interview was hosted by Lucia, host of CGTN, with Mr. Morten Holm, Design Director of ARCHILAND, and Ms. Emily Luo, Senior Strategic Advisor of VELUX China. In the interview, Mr. Morten Holm shared his rich experience in construction projects since he came to China in 2001. He said he was impressed by the speed of development of Chinese cities and their acceptance of international advanced urban planning concepts. He particularly mentioned an early case of cooperation in the field of green building between China and Denmark - the Nanjing High-Tech Zone project. The project encompasses the comprehensive regeneration of the district and the green building practice of Nanjing Green Lighthouse, a building that skillfully combines elegant exterior design, efficient energy use and a comfortable indoor working environment.

Mr. Morten Holm also introduced the design and construction process of FunFarmFam in Beijing, which has successfully transformed a flat farm into a near-urban eco-experiential farm with more than 8,000 trees, diversified crops, and abundant outputs in the past few years. Through careful design and recycling of materials, the low-carbon retrofitting of existing structures has achieved the dual goals of good physical performance of the buildings and sustainable development.
