The Danantang Area is located in the center of Jiaxing Ancient City, only 600 meters away from the Memorial Ship of the First CPC National Congress in Jiaxing South Lake. It is an important part of the historical landscape of Jiaxing Ancient City and an important node of Jiaxing Ancient City's urban renewal. The current situation of this area is characterized by a series of problems such as excessive density, backward environment, lack of facilities and serious aging. The project takes the urban planning and construction of retracing one of the major roads as an opportunity to create a distinctive regional IP and build it into a landmark outdoor museum of colorful Jiaxing. The project takes into account modern urban development and heritage protection of the historic district, and realizes cultural revitalization and modern reinvention of the historic district space through multi-level renewal. On the basis of excavating history and culture and displaying regional characteristics, it will carefully build Jiaxing's “red culture” characteristic brand and further highlight the urban vitality of the Jiangnan water town.
