Marine economy is the development theme of the West coast new area in Qingdao with the target of promoting the economic development and reform in eastern coastal areas. Binhai Boulevard is a north-south main road running through the new district and connecting to Qingdao. How to identify the Binhai Boulevard and organize urban functions alongside it, and how to drive the economic transformation of the eastern coastal areas are the focuses in the project. Our plan provides overall planning strategies from comprehensive perspectives of space, function, transportation, operation, tourism, ecology, image, etc. We trying to present clear spatial pattern of urban development, improve transportation system, establish ecological sponge city and create high value urban belt. Moreover, we combine nodes design with smart and sustainable design, which can improve the quality of project and keep the development potential of plots.
