MALDIVES CORAL GATE
"Maldives Coral Gate", as the window of city image, is located at the core of Hulhumale, across the sea from Maldives Airport. Our design aims to reflect the open and welcoming attitude towards the world, showing the understanding of relationships between people and nature, nation and ocean, and the determination of sustainable development. Urban form, culture and sustainability are three main design strategies. In view of urban form and nature, we regenerate the microenvironment through inclusive landscape design and create a marine environment by using strong geometric elements. In view of culture, we preserve local culture while promoting tourism and trade, trying to come up with a culture development mode with local characteristics. In view of green and sustainable solutions, we provide passive design to adapt local climate, and truly implement the concept of sustainable development.
